As a Safety Specialist, you will:

• Identify operational-related safety threats to the company's operation and therefore help to mitigate any risks to the business
• Conduct, coordinate and manage investigations & audits
• Analyse operational safety occurrences
• Recommend improvements to operational integrity techniques, processes and company systems
• Support promotion of safety related initiatives and activities through engagement with key stakeholders
• Support development of safety training and communication throughout the business
• Support the growth of Air New Zealand’s Safety and Reporting Culture including the application of Just Culture principles.

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong communication skills
• Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills, as the success of this role is dependent on working collaboratively with stakeholders
• An understanding of SMS and risk management
• Knowledge of aviation regulatory framework and/or other areas of compliance.

Our ideal candidate would have a background in Ground Operations.
